Just up there this weekend. Granddaughter had the youth hunt and it wasn't the same. Virtually no bugling, small bulls with the cows. Hot, dry and very windy. Could of had her taken a long shot at a decent bull but passed and tried to get her closer. Elk moved into the thicker stuff and got away. Second evening had her on a small 5x5 about 150 yards and she was pulling the trigger but was a little unsteady with excitement so she was taking her time. Just then the wind shifted and the bull smelled us and ran off. Last morning saw 2 small bulls but they saw us first and didn't stick around. She had to be back in school today so that ended the hunt but she's looking to drawing that tag in the future as an adult. It was still a great experience for her and she was still happy even though she didn't get anything.
