Hey Bess!

2023 ain’t going to get better!

Your boarder brothers are entering by the 1,000’s each day!

Also, the well over a trillion dollar war package your tax dollars are funding to be sent to Ukraine and consumed by September 2023!

Already starting off the new year on a bad note!

And don’t forget about your draw odds!

You ain’t drawing this year either!

Happy New Year though!!!

And they're spending millions in places like El Paso to house them.
Then they will give them food and education.
Then the criminal ones will bring Fentanyl in to kill and destroy our youth.
Then the ones who work will undercut our trade businesses.
It is too late to fix the debt we have.
But prices may drop for awhile.
Crooked politicians have little to stop their devil deeds.
Our constitutional rights will see more removal and our retirements will be sorely taxed.
Things will get better ? Nope
Enjoy what you have and be grateful you have wives, children and any family you get along with.

2021 and 2022

I hope people are getting sick alot less this year. Hopefully most people's immune systems are getting back to normal. Last year I got a nasty cold in January, my family and I got COVID in February, COVID again in late July and influenza in mid November.

Covid in late July and Inflenza in November.

I'm headed south to hunt Coues Deer this week, and have a load of other hunt plans throughout the year. I don't waste time fretting over the political/economic nonsense much. Most of us have lived through much worse. Not much different that it ever was, we just have a drastically more connected world now, to shove it in our faces daily. It's all meaningless to me as long as my family is taken care of and I can keep doing my thing. Happy New Year to all.

We had another small earthquake yesterday but none so far this year, so things are looking up. We're just taking baby steps for now.

The climate should start improving as we buy more EV's.
You’re the cause eel…….. you “SOLD” your e-bike! Karma’s a witch!

I retract my last statement. We just had another earthquake.
I even got an alert on my phone during the quake.
LoCO Staff / Today @ 10:35 a.m.

Earthquake! 5.4 magnitude, 15km SE of Rio Dell, CA

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but several experts are saying that 2023 is going to get worse.
As for me I am looking at jacking my knife prices up by 10 bucks due to my added cost. Steel and handle scales went up last year by a good percentage. My 80 grit knife grinding belts went up big time from 17 bucks per 10 belts to 33 bucks per 10 belts in the last 5 months.
Gas is till high and food prices are going to hurt a lot of low to middle income families.

My industry is in full-blown recession and was for all of 2022! I took in about 15% of the income in 2022 that I usually have.
My 401K has taken it in the azz and the forecast for 2023 isn’t looking any better!
All this when I WAS going to retire in Sept when I hit the big seven-O.
I’m especially grumpy right now and see myself working for an additional 2+ years to pay for what Uncle Sam squanders.
Thanks for all the mismanagement FEDS?

I may have missed it somewhere Zeke, but what do you do?

Bob, you should be at $300 minimum on your knives anyways. Don't short yourself.

Not sure 23 will be better, as Zeke says. I guess the one positive is that I’m not looking to buy a home. I’m not sure how these younger guys are doing it. It seems like everything is in demand and everything is sky high.
Wishing all of you a great 2023, and hoping things improve!

You can get about 3.5% interest on a 6 month CD now. That won't even keep up with inflation but better than nothing.

I may have missed it somewhere Zeke, but what do you do?
I’m a Realtor with aspirations of being a porn star but my looks (size, wife etc) doesn't allow that (LOL) so I’ve been stuck selling RE for 30 years.

I’ve floundered through some tough years so I suppose I won’t die this time either but it’s all FED created and I’m not a happy camper.

The damn FED has more than doubled interest rates thereby creating a full-blown recession so business all but came to a screeching halt. Demand is still there but sellers don’t want to come way down in price (yet) and buyers don’t want to have double the payment (yet) just to cover the increased interest. We will all get used to the change and business will carry on so that’s a bright point.

Oh well, damn good thing that I like what I do since I’ll be doing it for a few more years to take up the slack the FED created.

Whiner,
Zeke

But……… for the first time in half the population’s life time, their savings account and IRA account is generating more than the fees charged for bothering the Banks for loaning your money. The Realtors have had a good run, might be time to give the other guys a pay day. Or.. not. ?

Just poking you Zeke……. Hope there’s a windfall somewhere in this for you and other MM Realtors.

And shipping cost are through the roof for all materials as well.

JB I have two knife collectors, one with 350 knives in his collection, tell me that I sell my knives too cheap. He has bought 10 of my knives.
Knife making is a hobby for me and not my main means of support. I will have to raise the prices on the S30V knives from $250.00 to around $260.00 to make about 19-20 dollars per hour after covering my expenses. On the 0-1 carbon steel knives I only make about $12.00 per hour since I sell them at a far lower price.
If I raised my prices too much, Bess would cry in his beer and we can not have a grown man crying and spoiling his beer.
I like to keep my prices down so that more hunters can afford a custom knife. When I started hunting in the early 70's i could not afford to buy a custom knife trying to feed and house my family with two kids to raise.

At Least Not About Your Knives!
