I hunted it in 2002 and it was the 2nd worst hunt I've ever been on. I've never seen an area so over run with vehicles and vehicle tracks. People were driving pickups, ATV's motorcyclyes and anything they could EVERYWHERE. I scouted three times and saw a few solid bucks. Come archery season, some guys came in and set up a big camp right in the middle of the best area I had seen. Trailers, campers and vehicles all over. And then it went downhill..........
I'd forget the areas that are close to any road - and there are plenty of roads. If I ever went back, I would go to some obscure, off-the-beaten path area that most hunters would not look at. Instead of scouting for the deer, I would spend my time looking for some of those hidey-hole areas now. The deer will definitely not be in the same places in October that they are in now. At least the big old bucks will mostly move out of any likely area. Their opportunity to survive is just not good in most of that country. The big guys will go nocturnal and move to more secluded spots.
