Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on a good smokepole for my 9 year old son. Neb lowered its deer hunting minumum age to ten this year and we go for the muzzleloader season every year, but my guns don't fit him very well. If anybody has any idea on a gun or two that we could go look at i would appreciate the info. Thanks alot,

Yes I agree that weight is a problem too the barrel is usally so long and heavy that it is hard for him to hold up very long. We always put a bypod on the guns for a good rest, but i was hoping that somebody made a gun that was made for the smaller shooter. It would be easier to carry and aim. I have looked up a few but do not have any experience with them to know if any are worth a darn.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-24-08 AT 05:53PM (MST)[p]I would try looking at the cva wolf, its a pretty compact muzzle loader. If he has a bi pod that should do good for him. It also has a shorter 24" barrel.
There is also the buckhorn which is a good reliable rifle but uses the old style plunger and is a bit more time consuming to clean.

Well I'm thinking about a G2 Contender 50 cal. They have a 13 inch stock on a pretty small setup. Sure would like to see one but that is probably not going to happen. Anybody have one of these guns? Or any input on it? Thanks
