No experience with the 230s, but the 140 VLD out of my 6.5 Sherman performed great on two mulies and a cow elk last fall. I'll be shooting the 190's out of my 300 RUM this year, but I imagine I'll step up to something a little heavier next season.

I've got 2 X Bolts (25-06 and .223) and they are solid rifle. I'm sure yours is a shooter as well.

I have a Sendero in 7RM that I really enjoy shooting- I swapped the trigger out for a Timney and it was a huge improvement over the X Mark pro. Other than that, it's a bone stock rifle. The Accumark is definitely a lot more money and to be honest, I haven't heard the best reports about them...

LAST EDITED ON Feb-21-16 AT 10:08AM (MST)[p]Try turning your sizing die about 1/4 to 1/2 turn deeper into the press. I'd be willing to bet it's not sizing your brass all the way down. This solved my WSM sizing issues when I had one. I sized fired brass from other rifles with no problem.

I lucked into a couple of boxes of the 129 ABLR - I'm waiting on my rifle build to finish up before I'll have the chance to try them out. If things don't work out with these, I'll most likely go with the matrix VLD in a 150 or 160 6.5.

I agree with the above about the fluting - If your friend hasn't shot any magnums before, I'd leave all the weight to help absorb some more recoil.
