Here is a pic of my buck and the entry hole with the Ulmer Edge. He was angled away up hill and the arrow ended up stopping on the opposite shoulder. It did some real damage as he ran.

Connected on this buck after 9 days of hunting. Saw some better bucks than this one for sure, just couldn't close the deal on them. Had a great time though!

I'm interested in some opinions. I've drawn a limited entry archery deer tag in Utah which I did not expect to get this year and I need to make a decision. I have a Hoyt CyberTec from around 2003 I've shot for years, and I shoot it well, but have not really archery hunted with it much the past...

Any recommendations on a place near SLC (30 minute drive) where you could go listen or maybe even see the elk during the rut close to a paved road? My wife just had a baby and we are pretty much limited to a quick trip on good roads close to home.

Thanks for the comments. She had her heart set on the big NT the entire hunt and didn't end up shooting anything. She passed up a lot of great bucks and we enjoyed every minute together!

I'll just drive out, count four bucks and ten does, and leave. Then I will get on my computer. I know there must be 40 bucks per 100 does and for every square mile there should be 200 deer. Then I'll figure 200 square miles are in the unit and times that by 200 deer. Wallah, 40,000 deer! and...

I figured they headed towards the desert, but I just want to know where they do their classifications for that unit herd. I think they normally do it in November and 1st part of December on the winter range.

Wiley, Please post the link to the "graphs" you are referring to. Some of them I can find in the link above do show increases as well as some with decreases, but also they ended in 2006 and many units are missing all together. I would like to see some current info from Colorado. thx

Wiley, There are many graphs throughout the different DAU's plans in Colorado that have shown herd increases from this system. Sure there are years of decreases due to uncontrollable factors, but at least the steady declines in many cases were reversed at some point. The key is that every unit...

This is the basis Colorado uses in Unit Management. May be a good start for Utah, but just like Colorado the amount of units and/or unit boundaries may need to be adjusted to better manage each herd. Any Thoughts? Here is the link where I found this info...

Hunted 30 3rd season last year. The 3rd season a week later this year will be your best bet. It was a good hunt last year.
