    Fit of Kuiu pants

I have tiburon and guide pants. They have a very true fit in the waist. Not baggy at all around legs. If you don't like an "athletic" fit in leg, it might make sense to order a bigger size. The pants also stretch quite a bit - I love the fit of all my kuiu stuff

    Anyone use the Rem Ultimate?

I just set up my Rem Ultimate with a Vortex 1X scope for hunting in Utah. Loading BH 209 at 100 grains by weight with the Remington Barnes 250 grain sabots. I just sighted it in and shot a few times. Haven't chronographed it yet. It seems pretty accurate. This sucker kicks!!! Not the gun I...

    SPOT Emergency locator

They new SPOT should be in stores soon. It seems like a lot of bugs are worked out, better GPS, faster signal, smaller, etc. That's the one I'm waiting for.

    Rifle Zero's

AWLBull -- yeah they're hand loads. 104.5 grains of Retumbo. No pressure signs either. Hodgdon's website says 105 is max for that bullet. I only lost about 150 fps going to 200 vs 180 grn Accubonds. I think it's worth it.

    Leather Treatment for Boots

Cabelas has their own brand, I've seen others at footwear stores. The stuff I have now is made by Justin Boots. I think they're all the same. The applicator is attached to the lid by a 4" peice of metal wire. The "cotton" may not be cotton at all, maybe nylon/poly. No it doesn't get all...

    Leather Treatment for Boots

The "greasy" reference was regarding beeswax, oil, etc. I think campdry is awesome stuff. It dries just like the liquid stuff with the cotton applicator.

    Leather Treatment for Boots

I only use Silicone. I like the silicone that's a liquid and has a cotton applicator. It gets deep into all the seems and works great. It also doesn't leave the boots with the greasy look.

    Need Tripod help Plz

Look at Gitzo carbon fiber. A little pricey but why have a swarovski scope if the tripod can't keep it still. I think they retail for around $300 but I picked one up on eBay for $100. I use it with my Swarovski ATS and hardly use my big Manfrotto even when I'm at the car.

    Muzzloader Accuracy

LAST EDITED ON Sep-02-09 AT 07:46PM (MST)[p]+1 on the crud ring. I have an AH shooting 150 grains Pyro, and 290 grn TMZs. After a few shots, even while cleaning with patch and solvent, I get a burnt crud ring that won't come off without a wire brush. I am able to get a solid 2" group at 100...

    Weatherby accuracy??

Is it an Accumark? I have a Weatherby that is a tack driver. Are you sure it's not the shooter? Weatherbys are pretty solid rifles. If it's not the shooter and you can't get AT LEAST under 2.5 - 3" at 200 yards, I'd send it back. At the range, I can get 4" groups at 600 yards with my gun.

    Idaho 66A late hunt

Does it get pounded? Over 1000 resident archery tags, over 700 NR archery tags. I have no experience on rifle. But archery is a joke. There are lots of elk though, I wouldn't let a 310 bull walk with that hunt. 330 would be very good although I'm sure there are bigger. The people that I...

    Wasatch Precision Arms

I shoot a 180 grn Accubond at 3415 fps. I don't think my gun shoots any faster after Brad worked on it, but it definitely shoots better groups and at longer ranges. Brad also accurized my brothers RUM. He does awesome muzzle breaks as well. If I could do it again, I'd by the cheapest...

    Wasatch Precision Arms

I'm sure there's a lot of people on this site with experience using Brad's guns. I don't have one of his customs but he accurized my factory 30-378. I have been very happy with his work. My gun is capable of a 5" group at 600 yards. That's pretty good considering I'm just an average hunter...

    Nikon EDGs

Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone has used a pair of the Nikon EDGs this year in the field. I looked through them this year at the expo and was pretty impressed. I've almost got enough Cabela's points for a pair of binocs and I thought those of you with a pair of EGDs probablly have...

Best Long Range .30 Caliber Deer Bullet

If you've got a RUM, I'd stick with 180 or even 200 grain bullets, especially for long range (Over 400 yards). The knock down power is better at long range, the wind drift is less, speed isn't that much lower. Higher ballistic coefficients = better accuracy. I think the Sierra MatchKings in...

    ATV's Beware

On the southern MZ hunt, I had two guys blazing their own trail with a Rino to get their 3x4 buck. This was in an area that I have hunted for more than five years. It was a major holding area for big bucks and the main reason is because it was roadless. Now some lazy hunters came across a...

    best long range setup

If you have target turrets from Leupold, Zeiss, Swarovski, Burris: www.kentonindustries.com You need to give them: caliber, velocity, weight and b.c. of bullet, zero range, altitude, temp, etc. I've looked into these but didn't go with them so I can't comment how well they work. I use the...

    best long range setup

"bullet drop turrets" or bullet drop compensators is a custom knob that replaces the verticle target knob on your scope. You customize it based on your exact load (velocity, grains, B.C., altitude, etc). Then you just range target and turn knob to yardage. You can do the same thing with MOA...

    Carbon Fiber Tri-Pod...

Check eBay. I bought a used/modified Gitzo carbon fiber tripod for $100. It is lighter than anything I've seen at Cabelas/Sportsmans. It extends high enough to use it while sitting. Band new Gitzo tripods sell for around $350.
