Since hunting season is over me and my boyfriend still like to drive in the hills and look for deer to "shoot" with our cameras. We came upon a small group of muleys and of course pulled over to watch them. There was a buck with tall wide antlers but something seemed off. They seemed fuzzy looking. He turned his head and it was a long single tine with two small kickers in front. This was a HUGE deer. But what was odd was the antlers looked funny. Not really velvet but more hair. When the deer walked away I seen no balls! Was this a doe with antlers? Or just a nontypical buck? It was too dark to photograph him so were going to make another trip to see if we can locate this deer. I've looked at every webpage on the internet to find some info on this but no luck. I'm hoping to run across him and get some good photos to share. I'm attaching a photo that is poor quality and doesn't really give this deer justice. Just curious as to why the hairy antlers!
