Thanks guys, for the positive comments. This is his fourth muley buck and he shot a nice antelope a couple years ago. This is his best so far. He measures just a hair over 25 inches wide and is a very symmetrical 4x4.
I have to thank the friend that was with us, though. He secured permission for us to hunt a lot of private ground through people he knew and he scouted and had other people looking too. We were very fortunate this year to be able to hunt some areas that don't usually allow much access.
Of course my son gets the real credit though for making a difficult shot. The first shot was looking straight into the sun at about 330 range finder yards. He missed that shot and the deer was actually spooked towards us by the sound of the bullet smacking beyond him. That's when my composure sort of got shaky but as usual, "O" stayed calm and drilled him on the second shot, still at 300 yards. He has now killed 3 deer and the antelope with his 243 with 8 bullets. His other deer was killed with a muzzleloader.
