Try the area east of Anvil Rock Road and south of the powerlines (the unit boundary). Also look at Bozarth, Contreras and Behm Mesa's north and east of Bagdad. The Pine Creek area is also worth checking out. Good Luck!

In November, 2006 (not sure if there are any changes since then) I was able to get a signal from the main road on the north side of the high point on Poverty Mountain and from a spot on the bench near the Grand Gulch Mine.

Congrats! You will want to check out the very northwest corner of Unit 17A around the New Water Camp on the Yavapai Ranch. It is a checkerboard of USFS and private land and all open to hunting.

You might want to look within 10 miles or so of the town of Williams in the southeast corner of the unit. The highest deer density in Unit 10 occur in this area. Check out Three Sisters, Hearst Mountain, Kaibab Hill and all the area nearby. There will be a good number of younger bucks...

Check out Randy Bryant from Seligman (Bryant Guide and Outfitter Service). He has hunted Unit 9 very successfully in the past and is a great guy to get along with. You should also check out Don Martin from Arizona Wildlife Outfitters in Kingman. Both are great.

Unit 10 has many good camping and hunting areas. If you are looking to get familiar with the unit I would recommend spending each night in a different area just so you can get a look at a lot of country. You might like to camp in the Pine Canyon area north of Pica Camp in the Aubrey Cliff area...

Thanks for the tips, guys. I settled on a Hornady 250 grain low drag sabot powered by 100 grains of Pyrodex in pellets. My first shot at game resulted a dandy Javelina boar. A fun way to hunt.
