Had 2 "failures" already this year on antelope by pushing that 295 HP too fast (130g). Fist sized entry and no exit - both animals went less than 100 yards. It worked just fine on antelope - I sure wouldn't want to try that load on deer or elk. Jason

If you not too picky you can certainly hunt deer / antelope with a bow every year(at least until you take a goat - then 5 yr wait). Pretty tough to say any of the hunts are overcrowded in NV if you get off the roads. Take a look at the bonus point tallies for residents on the NDOW website and...

Roughly 20% draw odds last year for both area ~ Regular Nonres draw, not sure about special. (1 in 5) Will be interesting to see if that equates to 25% draw odds in the regular this year thanks to the points. (1 in 4)

Dig thru the NDOW website. They list draw odds for the JR hunts too.

Another Option - Pray the CA Bighorn do well in Utah and that they set up a seperate hunt (someday). Then make sure you are at the top of the pool.
