I am 4/4 on elk hunts, saw turkeys every time. I am 0/2 on turkey hunts, saw birds both times. They are there for sure, but they seem to be very localized, and they are turkeys, hard to hunt. Put in a ticket. If you are lucky to draw you can tour lots of the VC, and you might see a bird, but...

I hunted cow bison in the refuge in late December. I was told after some initial snow then a thaw in the park, it froze hard, and the bison could not get to the grass. Seemed reasonable. From what I could see in December anyone who had refuge access permission punched their tag. NMChem

I have purchased 2 TC Venture with synthetic stocks: A .338 Win and a 30-06. Both easily shoot 1" groups with hand loads. The bolt actions are smooth. I like the integrated scope bases and clip. For the money this is a very good gun.
