    Central Uintas Goats

Anyone hunted this unit for goats. I just returned from a trip on the south and only saw a handful of goats with a couple billies. I had been told to expect to see a lot of goats, but was disappointed when I did not. My group rode eleven miles back in near Mt. Emmons. I know there are a lot of...

    Central Uintas Goat Tag

Has anyone hunted this unit for goats. My nephew hunts elk on the side end of the unit and sees a lot of goats. I also have a co-worker who hunted the north end of the unit with good success. Just looking for additional areas to scout. We are going in on horse back and have two tags in our group.

    Late Season Pavhant elk

Where are all the late season bulls from this unit. I haven't seen any pictures posted. I received a picture of a bull that was killed this year during the late hunt. Not sure of the details of this bull or who it was that harvested it.

CVA magbolt and Blackhorn 209 Hang-firing

Well I have heard excellent reports on Blackhorn 209 propellant for muzzleloaders. I tested it out yesterday in my CVA Magbolt .50 rifle. I shot two loads and the first one had a couple mis-fires where the powder did not ignite. I removed the breech plug cleaned the flash hole, reinserted the...

    Parker plateau success

Just wondering how the Parker Plateau fared this past season. The tag numbers were drastically reduced by I did not see many posts on the success and size of the bucks being taken in the Fall 2011 hunt.

    Finally, help for the plateau

Looks like the UDWR finally figured out the antelope population on the plateau is hurting. They hammered the herd for too long and destroyed the quality of the hunt. The proposed any weapon permit numbers for this years hunt have gone from 254 permits in 2010 to 39 permits in 2011. Last...

    Moving Muley's

Well I think the colder temps and maybe some pressure on top has got these bigger bucks moving to their transition zones. The bucks I had been watching appear to have moved off the top by the last day of the Utah muzzle loader hunt. I was out yesterday exploring the low lands and didn't locate...

    Nebo Muzzy info.

A good friend of mine drew the Nebo Muzzy elk tag. I offered to help but I don't know the unit very well. I live close by, so not a problem getting there, just need some areas that typically hold elk. Thanks for any and all help.

    Unbelievable

Is it just me or are hunters in general be coming less courteous. I headed down to me twenty year deer hunting spot early in the a.m. this past muzzle loader opener. My boy, his buddy and I made sure we slipped in quietly, in the dark off to the side of the deer. All this to ensure the...

    Boulder Archery antelope

Any one on this site hunting the Boulders this year for archery antelope? Just wondering where everyone thinks the majority of the pressure is going to be. My 14 year old daughter has a permit and we'll be sitting a couple different water holes in a pop up ground blind.

    Nebo-West desert extended archery elk

Have any of you hunted this unit west of I-15? Just curious. Talked to the biologist with the UDWR and he wasn't very helpful. All he stated was it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. I have seen a few elk West of Nephi. Has anyone have any ideas where to look. Extended season...

    Utah archery elk crowding!

Is it just me or is the archery elk hunt in Utah getting more and more crowded each year. I have bowhunted the same area in Central Utah for twenty plus years. There are several camps that have been camping in the same area for just as long during the archery elk hunt. I know the people in each...

    Pahvant & archery deer opener

Who's headed down to the Pahvant for the opener of the archery deer hunt? Just curious if it's going to be as crowded as it has been the last few years. I plan on hitting it with my son. Just wish it was like it was in the late 80's early 90's when you saw only a handfull of archery hunters.

    Boulder/plateau antelope scout trips

I have seen some nice speed goat bucks in the Northwest part of the plateau this year on a couple scouting trips. The antelope numbers are incredible. They are like over populated rabbits in some parts. I have to talked to alot of people who drawn tags for the unit in the past and said that...

    Boulder/Plateau Ut goats

Does anyone have good info on areas in the the boulder plateau antelope unit. My wife drew a tag this year but I see that 119 others drew the same tag for the first rifle season alone. I am worried about over crowding and not enough goats to go around. Looking for a nice 15" + buck if I can...

    Lost Dogs Holden, Ut

On April 19, 2005 I was camped in the Holden, Utah area near Maple Hollow Road and I-15. My two dogs, a ten year old German Shorthair and a one year old Brittany Spaniel, wandered off. The shorthair is liver and ticked with a camo collar. The brittany is orange and white with a choke chain...
