I had a buddy hunt the 2nd season and he was seeing bucks above 11,000'. The snow that was on the ground had tons of tracks in it above 12,000', as well as lion tracks!! If the lions are that high, that's a pretty good sign where the good hunting is!!

The answer you are more or less looking for is 40". Probably the more reliable measurement is the ear width, +/- 21". That will help you gauge width as well.

I was just up in Co Unit ##, and glassed up probably 20 bucks Sunday morning, all above 11,500'. Some smaller 150" bucks, but some that would approach 170". I wasn't seeing the 180"+ bucks we usually see, but there is a lot of country up there! Keep looking high and you'll find them!!

I have heard a standard ear width will be 21". Both my deer on the wall are right at 21", one just above and the other just below. I'd love to see a deer with 26" ear width, shoot him thinking he's 24" wide, and he ends up 30"!!!

I've seen a big muley rutting hard as late as the first week of Feb.! This may have been a second, minor rut, but a rut nonetheless. Don't give up if you aren't seeing much action early Jan.

Does anyone have personal experience on how Luminocs effect the consistency of arrow flight? The extra weight at the back of the arrow is never desirable, but I am filming my hunt and thought it would help identify shot placement before the stalk. Any thoughts?
