I just returned from three days of scouting in the pecos. Packed into the valle largo area and saw a few elk. Was wondering if they should be still bugling for muzzy season. Anyone ever hunted this area during muzzy and how did it go?

Just telling what I have seen in the Pinelodge area. We go to a cabin there often.

Have been in that area alot and never seen any elk yb. Cabin oners have mentioned seeing an elk cow one time before the fire.

Congrats oldmossback how many points did take you R or NR. Am a NR with 15 points and hope to draw before I get to old. There is alot of open space on eastside of colimbine campground kinda in the middle of unit might work depending where you decide to hunt.

My son and I are going to the pecos for muzzy elk first time in many years

Was told by the campground host that last summer they went in around memorial day and there was still a foot of snow at columbine campground. The third week of July was green as could be and cool 60s days 40s nights looks like a year is going to make a big difference.
