I've heard that some states actually make you pay up front when you apply. Depending on how many tags you are trying to draw, this could expensive VERY fast.

So no real increase in LE areas (other than North Slope Summit and multi/late season). NR hunters are still stuck in a rut.

A NR and a Utah Resident put in for a hunt together (LE Deer). They have different points. I know that when two or more people put in for a hunt together, their points are averaged. But, does UDWR apply that averaged number to the NR or Resident hunt? (Usually, Residents require fewer points...

Thanks bluejay. Since I moved out of UT, my points have been building up pretty quick. Of course EVERYONE not in UT has points building fast, so no real advantage. Now, if I can just get back there, I'll be set!!

This is where an automated harvest reporting system comes in handy. In TN I can go on-line and select a time period, species and county to get harvest data. From years ago, to what was reported just yesterday.

I'll be waiting. I'm in the "iffy" zone to draw MZ Book Cliffs with 10 points.

Thanks for all the great info Lumpy. Our whitetail in TN have a whole different set of issues regarding fawn survival. A study in 2012 by TN Wildlife Resources Agency disclosed that coyotes take 70% of newborn fawns. Needless to say, coyote hunting is serious business around here.
