Good luck they were screaming their heads off the night before the rifle opener. It was pretty cool to see some nice bulls on our scouting trip. Heard a few shots opening day and a handful on sunday.

I not 100% clear on the road closure after reading it. The the road to fields and denio is the closure border for sure and everything east of it is closed. Not sure how the fire will affect the hunting hopefully it doesn't jump the highway.

Merriams elk are suppose to be extinct as well. They were suppose to have the largest antlers of all the elk species.

Going to the snake this year for elk season party will average 7 points residents. Taking a bunch of mules and horses I will let you know how it goes. Goodluck
