    Utah Late Elk Hunt

After 12 years of applying for a tag, my wife drew 1 of two non-resident tags allotted for her unit this year. It was an extremely difficult hunt, and seen very few elk. The last 30 minutes of the hunt, she downed this old bruiser. He is broken up horribly, and probly not as much horn as years...

    BH209

I have read some posts, that BH209, might not shoot on some muzzleloaders. I have a HR huntsman, that uses the plastic primer holder. I had some problems, with 777 pellets nit igniting properly, so I drilled out the primer hole in the plug, and now it shoots great. 2 50 gr pellets and 250 gr...

    Blow-by

I am fairly new to muzzleloader shooting, and bought a barrel for my New England SB-2 in 50 cal., about 3 years ago. Last year I hunted with this rig, probly shot it about 20 times with 2-50 grain 777 pellets and 250 grain sabot. This past winter when I was changing the barrels, back to a rifle...

    Texas Whitetail

The picture is dated 11/12, but should be 12/11. We finally got some cold weather and got the deer moving. Rut is totally over, as 3 bucks were traveling together and I got lucky on the biggest of them. Shot him with a 270, and 110 gr. Barnes TTSX at about 110 yds. Neck shot, dropped quick...

    App question

On the application, it has a place you can check if unsuccesful for first look at "LEFTOVER LICENCE LIST". If you check it, and don't pick something from the list, when do they send your refund? I have never checked this block, but thinking about it this year.

    Hang-Fires

Just got my first muzzleloader about 3 months ago. It is a H&R huntsman, 50 cal. inline, 209 primer in a plastic carrier.During first firings, I had about 4 out of 20 or so shots, that would delay fire, simular to a flintlock. I thought I didn't quite seat the bullets good enough? Then took it...

    Primers

At a local gun show, this past weekend, found a table with loads of "WOLF" brand primers. Every size imaginable. Anyone on here had any experience with these primers? Price seemed right, about 26.00 a case, or ten pack.

    5 day hunts

Why are the 5 day general season units opening in the middle of the week this year? I cannot recall a general deer season opening on a Wednesday. The proclomation says Oct. 21st through 25th, for the 5 day units. Seems a little odd to me.

    Hunter Safety Courses

When will Colorado change the year of birth, to require a humter safety course? 1949, be real! This is the only state with such an atiquated date.I agree it is a very idea for all young hunters to take a course, but there should be a reasonable age to require it. Am I the only hunter out there...

Has anyone purchased the "BIG GAME CD" from the DOW? There are two versions, standard and deluxe. I was thinking about trying the standard, just wandering if anyone else on here had tried, and what they thought about it.
