I hunted that unit 2nd season in 2013. we didn't a lot o deer and the one we did see weren't very big. We camped at buckeye res. pretty nice place. There were way more elk hunter then deer hunters. Hunt the old burnt area. its going to feel pretty crowded try to get off the roads and find places...

Scouted a bit this past weekend for a budy that has the tag .seen a buck breeding a doe so yeah they are rutting!!!! We seen 4 buck 2 shooters.

Campgrounds are nice 3rd season should be better with the weather and all. 2nd season was warm and dry, still saw deer every day but 95% of what we saw were does and small bucks.

We went 3 for 3 on the 2nd season unit 60 mine in the middle.

Got mine last Sunday, He was the biggest Id seen in 2 days of scouting and 2 days of hunting. He was still in Velvet and had a ball bag but no TESTIES!!! biggest fork I ever seen had a ton of fat on him!!!

Does anyone knoe if the campgrounds at buck res. will be open to use ??? If so where else could i camp for the 2nd deer season in unit 60 ?? Thanks for any info

I got the same stroy as Muzz have a 2nd season tag but never been there!!! Is there a reason most tag holders for this unit have never set foot in the unit???? just a obersvation. But I will let you know how we do in 2nd season.

shot this cali. buck in the General rile season on public land in D-9. I think it was in oct. Both antlers poped off the first on poped off when we startwed draggin him. Then second won poped off when I rolled him over to gut him out.
