If your goal is to kill a "big" buck I would choose the unit you could spend the most time scouting. If you are just looking to kill a buck while your kids are in tow, you could do that on any of those units you listed.

We drew the tag back in 99, the first year the unit opened back up after being closed. Oh my....what could have been. The books could have been incredible for big deer, but they opted not to manage it that way.

I have video footage from a couple years ago of a mature (190 class deer) buck breeding a doe in mid February. Only time I have ever seen something like that so late.

I called and spoke with the SLC office a few weeks back. The way it was explained to me was...the 15% is only for the re-ups or new people that are starting the DH program. The people already in their 2nd or 3rd year do not make up that 15% BH

They are designating 15% of the tags in each unit for DH's.

19,900 deer on the Manti? I would put everything I own up against that number being no where close. I work all over this unit, from the north end to the south end, and hunt and scout this unit hard every year. There is absolutely no way that number is close. BH
