081 elk rifle late

any pointers on the unit? brother drew the tag and ive never been there, except on google earth

Wow! lots of tags for that area. Over 100 early, 0ver 100 late. Not to mention all the cow tags, muzzy, archery, and deer hunters before you even get to hunt. Good luck. If it were me i would find out where no body was and go there.
I've hunted there a few times for deer and have seen some elk. My boy has a Jr deer tag there this year again also. Send me a pm and i'll get back to you with what i know.

We have the early rifle hunt.

Haven't looked at exact dates but most deer hunts in 081 are very late. PM sent.

081 archery deer starts in Oct. Muzzy starts Nov 20 both i believe are before his bull hunt. Plus early bull rifle, cow hunts, archery bull, etc. My experience in that area are that alot of bulls will be broken up by the late hunt. Not all, but alot of them. There's still some good bulls to be found.
I will be up there for sure by muzzy deer, all the way thru rifle deer.
