Well, looks like 2018 is a wrap. Wish I could do it all over again. It's amazing how much time and preparation occurs on the off-season, and how fast the actual season goes by. But, a lot of really incredible days in the field with family, making memories I'll never forget.
It started with off-range oryx. A very short, but very successful hunt.
After a long summer, my son and I headed out of state for early muzzleloader season whitetail hunting. The early season is tough, but my son was able to fill his tag with this nice buck.
My nephew had an early muzzleloader elk tag and killed his first public land bull...
We had muzzleloader muley tags in NM, but we were only able to hunt one day because my brother and I were heading to Kodiak for a Sitka blacktail hunt the same week. I could write pages about that hunt. Absolutely epic, and my knees are still recovering from those steep mountains out there.
I was really happy with my buck, but I seriously didn't know they even got as big as the buck my brother killed!
You can't go to Kodiak without having one of these encounters....
Two weeks after returning from Kodiak, it was back out for the late whitetail hunt. 1.5 days of incredible hunting.
My brother's opening day buck...
My nephew's second day buck...
My buck...
Great day hunting, then got to listen to my Cowboys beat the Saints on the drive home!
Time to get started on the long list of honey-do's.
