Beaver Archery LE Elk....

Well I have decided to put in for the Beaver Archery Elk this year. I should be able to draw the tag. I know this unit well, but nevered elk hunted on it. I have heard that the elk rut late down there, but I know there are some awesome bulls. Was wondering if anybody could give me some help as far as good places for scouting or any opinions. Speaking as someone who cashed in last year on a LE archery tag, and ate tag soup, my biggest piece of advice would be to plan on spending EVERY day in Sept. down there till your hunt closes. The time I spent there during August was nothing more than a good area familiarization. Time is your enemy during the archery elk.

You must have 7 or 8 points to guarantee you that tag. Don't cash in on an archery hunt unless you are willing to eat tag soup. Utah does not help you archers out. Good luck!!
