Starting in 2012, Utah's general-season deer hunt will take place in 30 units instead of five regions.
Because of the switch to unit-based hunting, existing Dedicated Hunters have the opportunity to select a general-season unit that will remain in effect through the rest of their enrollment period. Please take some time to learn more about the changes and view the boundary maps by visiting http://go.usa.gov/Ijx.
We sent letters mid-December giving Dedicated Hunters instructions on how to make their unit selection. However, we are aware that some folks have not received their letter or reminder email(s). If you fall into this category, please visit the Dedicated Hunter web page at www.wildlife.utah.gov/dh then click on the "select your hunting unit" link at the top of the page. You will need your customer ID number and your date of birth in order to make your selection. We encourage you to print the page you see after you make your selection so that you will have a copy for your records.
The deadline for making a selection is 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012.
Dedicated Hunters who have not made a unit selection by the deadline will be assigned a unit in the participants region from 2011.
If you are not a Dedicated Hunter but know someone who is, please pass this information on.
