For what it sounds like, I am looking for an elk hunting partner in 2007 in the state of Colorado! First off I have very good knowledge of this unit that is close to Denver (70 miles) that produces some good bulls. For someone who lives out of state, I have spent some time in the area and even did a guided bow hunt here(2004) a few years back on PUBLIC LAND! We had a nice 5X5 (250-270) or better within 100 yards almost every day. I went back last year just to make sure I could locate all of our good areas and I found all of them but one thanks to GPS! It will take two perference points to draw a tag in this unit and I am looking to exchange my knowledge of the area, man power to take your bull out, and mine if we are lucky, split the cost of a hotel room, food, and gas. There is a catch as allways and here is mine. I have now been on 6 guided elk hunts in the last 10 years and have never even drawn my bow back. YES, I have passed up some below average bulls, and even had good bulls within bow range but it seemed like they allways presented bad angles to me. Heck, I could pay for a new truck when you see what I have spent on these elk hunts, but would not trade my experiences for anything in the world. That being said, I would like to harvest a decent bull sometime in my life (48 years old )and this will be a good chance for me. This will be a Muzzleloader hunt! So if you are interested and have 2 perference points (100% chance of drawing) then e-mail me at [email protected]. I will not get into what Unit # that I will be hunting but contact me and we can talk about that. By the way, this is a goat and sheep unit so be preparied for hiking, hard work, and high altitude. Sounds like fun right! Well, it does to me!!!!!!
