Unless you have max bonus points, your chance of drawing a limited entry elk tag in Utah is once in a lifetime at best.
With 1,272 permits approximatly 636 go to people with the most bonus points. That leaves about 636 for the remainder of the max bonus point holders as well as the rest of the applicants. after the max bonus point draw for elk there was about 37,639 people left for 636 permits, calculated out that gives you about a
1 in 59 chance of drawing an elk tag on average. Every year more people apply for elk so that number will probably increase.
unless utah does something drastically diffrent most people will never hunt l.e. elk in utah.
How do we fix this problem?
