I remember standing outside one warm summer night, and looking up with awe at a nearly full moon and wishing to myself that I could be on the moon with those guys right this very minute!

I remember having bug fights between praying mantis's and spiders.

A full afternoon could be spent catching blue-belly lizards.

My mom always acted soooooo interested in every critter and bug I could catch and bring home.

Remeber pop in bottles?

Penny Candy?

The daily Ice Cream Truck?

Finding a penny and knowing you had something valuable?

Typewriters with keys you had to push hard enough for the key to push the stamp up the the paper on the roller??

Push lawn movers?

Cork Pop Guns?

A brand new truck cost less than $4K? And you could drag main all night on $1.00 worth of gas? 29 cents a gallon?????

GOING TO THE BEACH

THE END OF A SCHOOL DAY

LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL TRYOUTS

FRIDAY NIGHT DANCES

YD.

How about sneaking someone into the drive inn in the trunk or on the floor in the backseat covered with a blanket.

Going to A&W and ordering from the car. Getting your burger and fries on a tray from the window.

Collecting coke bottles to return for pinball money.

While in school, drive down to the local hamburger joint and get a hamburger, coke and french fries for a grand total of 50 CENTS, NOW YOU KNOW YOUR OLD. lol

Brian

How about on Halloween? We would go from dark until 10pm or so, have a giant bag of candy, never think of vandalism, and our parents didn't worry a bit:)

Ed

Picking up Pop bottles and turnig them in at the store to buy candy. Riding your bike acorss town and fishing all day with your friends. Spending the day behind the house armed with your trusty BB gun. Swimming in the creek with all your buddy's, picking blackberries for mom so she can make a pie or cobbler.
Having dirt clod fights, bake sales and playing war with your friends. I think red rover was one of my favorites.
Yea those were the days, seem's so long ago. Thanks for the memory jot.

when everyone went to bed and I would sneak out the window (with a HANDFUL OF DOG TREATS FOR BRUSIER!)To meet the gang (and the twins I was seeing to skinny dip at the high school pool!)!
oh I have to write more of this stuff!
