It sounds like you need to head for the back porch and kill a little grass.....It's like I'm carrying around 25-30 lbs of water.

Actually, I'm already taking a daily diuretic dose for edema. Otherwise my feet get the size of footballs. So I get to kill grass many times a day. Sadly, that won't work for ascites, which is a build up of fluid in the peritoneal cavity. From my research, either invasive surgery or a tap inserted through the skin & flesh into the cavity is necessary. It sounds like you need to head for the back porch and kill a little grass.....
That's a misinterpretation of the information. The numbers you're referring to would have to account for the amount of exposure of all groups to allow for a control.CDC #'s looking like its more likely to get the Covid AFTER being vaccinated.
Why am I not surprised?
Thanks. Your grandpa was right.Dang ODW, that sucks. Good luck on everything you've got going on.
My grandpa used to always say, "Getting old is not for the weak."
I think those are very wise words.
HA required a negative test to enter. You needed the vax to avoid quarantine. At least that’s how it was last month. Just an example. Why is anyone getting tested?
I'm serious. Other than to be hospitalized, or to get out of work, is there any reason why?
If you asymptomatic or barely sick, does it matter?
I feel like the Karen's are just dying to get to post on Facebook they have it, for attention

Flag of Gibraltar By June 1st, over 99% of Gibraltar's population was fully vaccinated. Since that time, new COVID cases per day have increased more than 2500%. SyringeNo entry sign
—-Wasn't a sympathy play.
But simply a reality one.
Read a warning label on birth control. Read it on ibuprofen. Read it on Viagra.
And I DO NOT support mandated vaccine.
But I am as leary of the mandate folks as I am the vaccine conspiracy folks.
I don't trust either.
I do trust Dr. Jorgensen. He told me to get it, so I did.
I hire good people, be they doctors, mechanic, plumbers, etc. Let the professionals handle their profession.

Good piece. Well said : I agree.
Told my lib, business owning, covid vaccinated dear friend he got the shot !, now he has it, & he / they / himshes and others are infecting the non vaccers !
He said ,’no one is talking about that ?, ‘
I said ,
I know.
Something else to think about.
My neighbor is a quadriplegic: he was infected by dumb care taker.
2 weeks, close call but home now. No side effects? I think therapeutics work ok.
Stay well my friends.

Is this what your TV told you?? Fact??Listen guys I'm hearing all kinds of opinions and partial truths. I am going to give you a fact.
A fully vaccinated person can contract covid 19, carry covid 19, and be a producer of a previously unknown variant. This is a fact.
The other side of the story...Fynn-derella

Even the medical community doesn’t know “Facts” about this BS yet. Get over yourself, or get your T shirt:
“I do whatever my TV tells me to”
So grizzly?
You Believe every F'N Thing the News Media/The Government Boasts?
Not at all. I had never heard of the Gibraltar tweet before, but it took about two seconds to see it was not an accurate description of events.
When somebody says, "Gibraltar has a high vaccination rate and their cases are up 2500%," I don't run to the internet to regurgitate it yearning for the jollies of bias confirmation and ?? on MM. I go pull up the numbers to see if they're true. And you know what, Gibraltar did have a 2500% increase. But, as my post said, "There's more to the story." Another way to look at the same numbers would be to say Gibraltar has only had a few dozen cases since last winter due to their high vaccination rate. Each of the numbers are accurate, but the former statistic takes a small sample size in an obviously successful attempt to mislead those that don't do their own research. The latter number takes a larger sample size and is thus more reliable.
If cases are so exceptionally low that they're averaging one per day, and now they're averaging 25 per day, that is both a 2500% increase and still a very low number. The sample size is too low to be a reliable source of information. If somebody tells you the cases of wolves seen in Utah increased 100% last year, that means a lot more if it's from 500 to 1,000 than if it's from one to two. A percentage of a small number is not reliable, even if you think you agree with the tweet.
Another example of people not properly understanding numbers is those that spread on far-right websites about a super-spreader event in Massachusetts. Many people misread those numbers to think the vaccinated were more likely to be infected. That is 100% NOT true. To infer that result, you would have to know the total number of V/UV and how many of each of those groups were infected. We don't know those numbers, they weren't published and neither was the total attendance. For all we know 100% of the unvaccinated in attendance got COVID and only 5% of the vaccinated did. The only number that was released was that 74% of those that tested positive were vaccinated.... that's not enough to know anything about the effectiveness of the vaccine, just that there are breakthrough cases... which we already knew. The vaccine was never said to be 100% effective.
My answer is a long way of saying that people need to think things through and quit spreading BS memes and tweets because what they're saying is false.
There is a really weird desire for confirmation bias on the far-right at the present and it's shielding intelligent people from very robust studies with absolutely massive amounts of information; which they dismiss in favor of a retweet or blog from somebody with no credibility or credentials and that they've never even heard of until they saw a pithy half-truth they were already preconditioned to believe.
I'll answer your question more holistically.I notice you drop that "far right" line several times.
What exactly do you consider "far left" today?
Remembering the Dems have open socialists now in there political body?
You're again trying to connect dots I didn't say. Being unvaccinated and anti-vax are entirely different things.Since the lowest percentage group of unvaccinated are Black folks, specifically male black folks, I'm gonna assume that "far right" speech you gave, is fluff. Unless we are to believe that now black folks, who vote 90% democrat, have now joined the far right as well?
Did Joe Rogan join the "far right"? He's one of the biggest voices in the country, and is not pro vaccine. In fact, I guarantee he DROWNS MTG and Gaetz in listeners and followers.
And, I could post the endless loops of Biden, Harris, AOC, Pelosi, Shummer, Cuomo, etc, talking endlessly about not trusting the FDA. Not trusting a "trump vaccine". Not taking anything Trump had a hand in.
Are they now all "Far right"?
Conservatives (not republicans) don't trust government. Blacks don't trust public health officials.
Both have VERY GOOD REASONS for doing so. None of them are conspiracy theories. Both are for concrete reasons backed with volumes of proof.
This ain't about "far right", it's about an ABSOLUTE FAILURE by the public health beaucracy. They have so severely bitched this, lied to the public, played political gotcha, that no one trusts them, including me, and I got the shot.
Blacks and Hispanic are being lead around by the far right? The anti-vax crusade is led by the far-right. Period.
Blacks and Hispanic are being lead around by the far right?
You're again trying to connect dots I didn't say. Being unvaccinated and anti-vax are entirely different things.
I have not seen one Black male "leading the anti-vax crusade" (scroll up to see those are the words I used). I'm sure they're out there but of all the links posted on MM, how many do you think were originally written by Black males? They are clearly not the predominant source of anti-vax speak.
As to Joe Rogan, he said after his podcast, "I'm not an anti-vax person. I believe they're safe and encourage many people to take them."
My point is, your post is making a leap that isn't there. Somebody remaining unvaccinated is different from somebody who is actively trying to convince others to remain unvaccinated as well. And before you accuse me of something I didn't ever say... Go read through my posts on MM, I've never told anybody they should be vaccinated. Ever. I'll counter incorrect information with actual facts but everybody gets to decide for themselves whether to be vaccinated or not. It's their choice. (But if a company wants to ban unvaccinated people... that's their choice too. 'Merica!)
________________
The ABSOLUTE FAILURE is when COVID became a political football. Masks and vaccinations became a sign of fealty to an ideology. Trump should've received high praise for Operation Warp Speed, instead he got his own vaccination in secret and his biggest supporters are those with the most public exposure saying it's unsafe. They're taking the greatest achievement from their own guy.
Another example... Dems are all open about their vaccination status; they have 100% vaccination participation rate in the House. Of the House Republicans, at least 97 of them won't even say whether they're vaccinated or not (46 of the 50 Republican Senators have confirmed they're vaccinated). Tucker Carlson has railed against vaccinations for months, but won't say whether he got his own and he's the number one show on the number one cable network. Where are the Black males with the voices to compete with the MTG, Gaetz, and Carlson's? They don't exist.
The anti-vax crusade is led by the far-right. Period.
I am the unvaccinated, and I think I'll begin to take a knee during something unrelated in solidarity for we, the oppressed, unvaccinated!!! JFP!! "Idiocracy" was a movie, not a playbook!!!
I've been told only "the far right" are anti vax.
Funniest part of your comment! I'm aware it's a poke at my little buddy grizz! Funny how they put you in a box if you don't agree with them. I'm far from "anti-vax", I've probably had more vaccinations before I was 25 than the majority on this site, but those vaccinations were time tested, they'd been around for years. I am pretty far right if you consider the one thing I want most is to be left alone and not told what I have to do by a governing body. There's a reason I left home at 18, joined the military at 20, am an independent contractor, and live alone well outside of town without TV.....I don't need a nurse maid, I love my freedom, and I'd rather talk to my horse than most people. He routinely proves to be smarter than most people I meet.
This comment probably just put me on a list.?
The point was, we always hear that Trump only got 10% of the Hispanic vote and only 8% of the Black vote. (or whatever the numbers are). I don't think that is a racist comment. There's no reason to try and interject race into this discussion by anybody. Clearly people don't need to be classified by skin color and lots of people have reasons for their vaccination status. I'm not talking about vaccination status, I'm talking about anti-vaccination activism and the false information that has come from that.
You're making a common misassumption though; not being vaccinated does not equate to being anti-vax. Heck, I'm sure there are people that ARE vaccinated that are now anti-vax. There are also documented cases of people that WERE anti-vax but changed their mind to pro-vax while in the ICU fighting for their lives.
The key is to look at who the top voices are in the anti-vax stratosphere.
I've said what I want to say so you can have the last word. Have a good evening.
Thanks everybody for keeping the conversation civil ??
I said you can have the last word and you can, I just want to clarify that I never intended to imply your comment was racist. It wasn't.The point was, we always hear that Trump only got 10% of the Hispanic vote and only 8% of the Black vote. (or whatever the numbers are). I don't think that is a racist comment.
I gave specific examples of individuals who are leading the anti-vax crusade with millions of viewers, followers, and even in-person rallies and your response is to claim a nameless, faceless, theoretical Black male as a counter and then equate the choice of being unvaccinated with the act of advocating for a position.Him among others.
I do 100-150 jobs a year, hang out on mtn and swamp. Am in gun stores, hunting stores, fishing shops.
Youd think at some point I'd run across a skinhead, neo Nazi, KKK, oath keeper or 3%.
I have run across a few Trump flags, most of them though are high school kids in trucks with mullets(including one in my house).
With all the "far right" talk, you'd think they would be selling white sheets at Walmart.

Those stories are circulating all over now, almost like somebody ordered them. This probably won’t resonate here.
Too many Utahns won’t get shots, then get COVID-19, instead
As recent news stories have shown, a lot of Utahns feel deep regrets now that they or their loved ones are sick.www.deseret.com

"Unfortunately, state lawmakers pushed for an early end to the state mask mandate last spring, based on virtually no data at all, then outlawed mask mandates in public schools this fall"
Can someone explain to this poor dumb redneck, how outlawing the mask mandate in schools, THAT HAVENT STARTED YET, lead to increased Wuhan right now?
Someone, really needs to fire EVERY PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICIAL, if they speak publically.
Vaccine hesitancy, mis truth, misunderstanding, etc, is 100% the fault of the absolute incompetent messaging from THEM.

lol...you most certainly didI said you can have the last word and you can, I just want to clarify that I never intended to imply your comment was racist. It wasn't.
I merely said there was no reason to interject race into a discussion about political reasonings. I also made it perfectly clear that nobody's comments were racist (hint: race-related does not equal racist).lol...you most certainly did
Already discussing it yesterday. I wasn't paying a lot of attention while getting my coffee this morning, but I think it was the Sec. of Edu. in a blurb on Fox talking about a possible delay for "in person" learning. We will see how long kids are back in school learning????

I believe it was my post, and I misunderstood Grizzly's response. It's now all good as far as that went. More my fault.Pretty sure I brought race into the discussion. It is used in data and statistics. It wasn't "racial"
Roughly 70% of NYC unvaccinated are Black. Lots of "far right" brothers in NYC I guess.
Going to be real fun watching the good libs of NYC close down access in the city to all those black folk when the shot mandate begins.
I’ve met him twice, might even consider a third meeting, if he’ll straighten up. LOLHomer has a unique way of communicating at times to say the least and he can be brutally honest. He has offended me more than once. I get over stuff like that. But you'll never meet a more kind person in real life. Homer stepped up big time recently when our daughter was going through a very rough period in her life, which I don't care to get into. I've only met him once but I consider Homer to be a true friend.
