Looking to Expand

I am new to the West, and I am currently living in Nevada. I have been hearing from a few people around that say I need to see about expanding my hunting options. I was curious if anyone would be willing to point me in the right direction as far as basic rules for non-resident utah tags. I.E. what are the easiest to obtain? What general areas in the southwest, to central west part of utah are best to start looking at? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. If I am asking too much, please feel free to tell me that as well.

Any of Utah LE units can be and are good. All utah has good bucks and bulls some of the General units can be good if you can do the leg work. Deer numbers are down and the bulls age objective have taken a toll the last couple years. I would look at the units easier to draw unless you have points. then work your way up to the better units with more points. If you want deer and can hike I would say the Wasatch Front some wall hanger but you have to work for them and can be tough.
DWR has odds and harvest stats check it out. Decide what you want and good luck. Get started now we put in for tags in Jan.

Thank you very much. I was thinking of putting in for just an antlerless tag for now. Are they easier to come by for non-residents? Im simply just trying to increasemy odds of getting to hunt. The more I hunt out here, the more experience to be gained. Is it as easy to draw a non resident Tag for bucks as it would be for antlerless. Also if I may ask, is an antlerless elk tag hard to get?

Thank You all in advance,

I think most tags are fairly easy to draw with the exception of the L.E. tags, you'll need plenty of bonus points for those.

I love bald beaver not you the other bald beaver lol. Just start putting in and one day you might draw a le tag. as for the general season were I live southern utah it seems like you draw every other year.

alntlerless tags are getting harder to come by. most cow elk tags take 3 years to get as a resident. less than 500 doe taga wwre given out in the draw doe thw entire state. not aure what the odds are for non residents though for either deer or elk. feel free to pm me and i can give ya more specifics ...
