North Slope raghorns

If you were after a small raghorn elk, where on the Northslope would you hunt? Just looking for general areas. i am currently thinking of heading into the area of Blacks Fork east. Is this a bad idea. I am not looking for anything giant. This is my first elk hunt. Luckily the military has stationed me in an area that will finally make this dream a reality. Looking forward to getting out in that type of contry, should be amazing.

I've hiked the Blacks, didn't see a whole lot of sign. There are some in there though. I'd go south slope. The herd is much larger on the south side. The problem with the Uintas is the endless lodge pole forest. The elk can be everywhere or no where. Spend a little time this summer nose'n around and give it a shot. Where you going to be stationed? Hill?
