I have checked my primers and have noticed that the Federal Gold primers burn the hottest and shows the least amount of pressures...what have you guys found?????

Gonehuntin, I've used CCI Primers for over 30 years. Good ignition rate, consistency and quality. I've never had a reason to "shop" other brands.(note: have NEVER had a mis-fire, EVER!!) BUCKRUB :7

Gonehuntin, I'm curios, how did you check the primers for heat?

I know on my 41Mag just switching to a magnum primer really livens up my loads.

I recently dropped some cash on a chrono and primers are one of the things I plan on investigating a bit. ;-)

i got a good deal on a buncha winchester magnum primers some years back and have used them since then. seem to do real well. if you're using something with a big load of powder, a magnum primer will work better. sets it of quite a bit quicker. i use them in everything i shoot that takes large rifle primers. use cci's in my .223's.

I do believe that you are correct I use the federal gold metal match gm215m magnum primer
most of the large calibers 30-378,lazzeroni warbird, stw and such reccomend these primers
and they work great for me
