As I dug into this issue a little more, I discovered that the KKK used the American flag. Someone said the banning of the Confederate flag was knee-jerk. Symbols are used by different groups, and mean many different things. My first post was knee-jerk. mtmuley

Just watched the American Women win the World Cup. Awesome. Foreman, I apologize for my remark. Things in life get more complicated when you have children. I try my damndest to steer them the right way. BUT, I will not tell them what to feel, or what to believe. My kids formng their own opinion on matters such as this makes me proud. The media and all the activists will be sure that it's banned. They have succeeded in the Supreme Court legalizing gay marriage, now they will be relentless on this subject. I guess it's OK for those people to paint black lives matter on the monuments in the South. Those monuments being tied to the Confederates. I don't agree with slavery, but that war is part of our history. By getting rid of all the aspects of it doesn't mean it never happened. Kind of like Iran claiming the holocost never happened.

Banning or agreeing to ban the Confederate flag is obsurd.
Wanting to ban an object because your opinion of what it may symbolize offends you is a damn shame.
This type of narrow, liberal mindset is exactly what has been chipping away at our liberties, bill of rights, and constitution for decades.
Knock it off people! You are NOT smarter than our forefathers that wrote them.
We should be fighting to keep the little freedom we have left, or before you know it there won't be any.

OK foreman, I called you a name. Again, I apologize. Issues like this go far deeper than a hunting site. I am trying to guide my kids into well rounded adults that can be an asset to society. What my beliefs may be, and whether or not I want to pose with internet bravado does not matter. I WILL NOT teach my kids to judge or hate ANYBODY or anything. I was taught some of those things, but it takes a lot of balls to move away from it. Out. mtmuley

Any proud American who is ashamed of the Confederate flag branding it the flag of traitors doesn't have a clue. The stars and stripes is also very much a traitor flag and the founding fathers would have been very much been hung until dead for high treason to the throne had they lost.
Next, anyone who suggests the North's ambitions with the war were pure as the wind driven snow has also been mistaken. There was good and evil in both camps and not clearly outlined by a flag backdrop. Motivation on both sides was propelled by greed and self preservation by in large. Otherwise please explain to yourself why civil rights issues did not end with the war. There is so much more to the story and the left wants to focus on one snap shot in time. How much do they discuss the point that many of the original slaves were traded for cash and commodities by THEIR VERY OWN TRIBE/FAMILY. Nobody wants to talk about that though.

This romantic notion about the Confederate flag is shameful and disgraceful. It represented an armed movement against the U.S. that killed and maimed hundreds of thousands of Americans. It's the flag of treachery and treason and should be seen and treated as such.

There was no treachery nor treason just secession ( but they did indeed lose) as usual understanding English is weak on here. All I know is I never wanted one till now, now I've got to have one bad.
