I DO NOT INTEND FOR THIS POST TO BE A POLITICAL DEBATE. I JUST REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT OTHERS ARE THINKING IN THESE CRAZY TIMES.
So Facebook and Twitter deleted the president along with thousands of other conservative voices.
I thought Trump getting shut down was possible, but I did not expect the many other conservatives to be discriminated against. I thought to myself "wow are they really going to purge the prominent conservative voices from their sites?" I mean, after all, this is how 90 percent of the world communicates.
Then, almost as if it was coordinated and planned, I discover that Google and Apple will no longer provide the Parler app. Finally, to put the icing on the cake, I find out that Amazon has also cut ties with Parler, which will effectively shut Parler down.
As most know, Facebook and Twitter already censor conservative speech by using biased fact checkers and Parler was basically the location where many conservatives had already moved to.
Anyway, it seems clear to me, as well as most conservative minded people, that the purge has begun. The plan of removing the conservative voices from our society, so they are unable to spread their conservative influence, has just shifted in to overdrive.
Some will say that some of this must be done because of what happened at the capital and we can't let these crazy conservatives plan further attacks on uncensored platforms, but unless you have had your head in the sand for the last four years, you know that removing conservative influence from our society has been an openly stated goal of a large sector of the left. Others will say these media giants are a private company, so they can lawfully exclude conservative voices. My response is OK great, but does that mean that it has any less effect on our society? It's not OK to discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, etc.....but it is OK to discriminate on the basis of ideology??
Also, If you have watched the media over the last few days, you have seen how the media is profiting immensely off the capital riots by linking all conservatives to the crazies that rioted at the capital. This is part of the narrative that will be used to allow for silencing those "dangerous" conservative voices.
Anyway, I am not trying to debate with anybody, but I am very curious if others feel as I do. To say that I am disheartened is an understatement. At this point, I am just trying to figure out how far it will go.
P.S. - Please don't turn this in to a heated political debate, so we can see how others feel.
Thanks,
