Youth Antelope

LAST EDITED ON Jan-16-16 AT 11:49PM (MST)[p]I just have a few questions about the youth tags. I'm planning on putting my daughter in for her first ever big game hunt. I wanted to make sure of a couple of things. There is no reduced priced tag for nonresident youth correct? Also there is no minimum caliber for antelope so a 223 or 22-250 can be used correct? Is the tag and habitat stamp all we need? Also are there better odds at all for a youth non-resident to pull an either sex tag or do I need to go female only for her to draw. Thanks for any and all help

You need to look at the application numbers and drawn numbers very carefully to determine draw odds. Based on my evaluation, this tag code is not 100%; not even close. Good luck, though.

Agreed, look at the hunt codes carefully because it's very easy to make a mistake. However, in this case unless I'm totally missing something, this hunt code is 100% for NON RESIDENTS.

There was only 3 total NR applicants for this hunt. There was 53 total tags given. 6% go to NR, which would be 3 tags. They only issued 1 NR tag on this hunt which means they were under-prescribed. There was 3 total NR applicants for this hunt and none of them were first choice, so the other 2 applicants must have drawn another hunt as their first choice.
