I'm interested in some opinions. I've drawn a limited entry archery deer tag in Utah which I did not expect to get this year and I need to make a decision. I have a Hoyt CyberTec from around 2003 I've shot for years, and I shoot it well, but have not really archery hunted with it much the past...

Any recommendations on a place near SLC (30 minute drive) where you could go listen or maybe even see the elk during the rut close to a paved road? My wife just had a baby and we are pretty much limited to a quick trip on good roads close to home.

Where is a good place near Midvale Utah to just get some capes tanned? May also want to mount a mule deer?

This is the basis Colorado uses in Unit Management. May be a good start for Utah, but just like Colorado the amount of units and/or unit boundaries may need to be adjusted to better manage each herd. Any Thoughts? Here is the link where I found this info...

I've caught a mule deer episode a couple of times this season where they are bowhunting in august. Don takes a nice typical 4 point at 11 yards. It looks a lot like southern Utah or the Kiabab area. Anyone know were this hunt takes place? The deer sure seem tame?

Anyone have a good workout program that helps prepare for backpacking. It seems almost impossible to match a work out at 4600' elevation with packing a loaded pack around the mountain at 10000' elevation. Any ideas?
