I would come a day or two early to scout. I would start at the junction of 377/260 heading north to Holbrook & glass all open area you see (right side of road). You will cover TONS of country. You can also drive the Zeniff rd from 260 & follow a similar pattern. Miles driven=more country. I...

I wouldn't expect much from this hunt. There is a reason there are leftover tags. I've done it myself & it's a pretty rough. I wouldn't bother calling the G&F over there either. lol Trust me on that one.

I would hunt the burn in Bear Wallow. The success rate in unit 1 last year for mule deer was quite high. Seems like the deer are doing great in there.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-19-12 AT 10:07PM (MST)[p]I had the tag last year & killed a 330 bull. I didn't see anything bigger than 350 (Which is obviously still very nice). It's still a good unit, but definitely going down in quality. I've talked to some big time guides in there that say the same.
