It was just one of those situations that felt lucky. Late in the hunt, unsold landowner tag in a great unit, third in line for a chance at the tag and getting a discount because of the situation. For once it was nice to fell like I was on the lucky end of things.

Not many elk out that way outside of the winter time and winter range. I see them outside five mile pass sometimes and they will cross SR73 but it only seems like it is during the tail end of the limited entry hunts on the oquirs.
