Don't think I've ever had the first half of September in central CO be so quiet in the areas I hunt. I've hunted a total of 10 days and have heard 1 distant bugle. I've seen elk most everyday but no talking at all, not even the big groups of cows I've seen. How's the rest of the state doing?

He's an awesome bull! I was chasing him the opener of archery season, got close a few times but no shots. Way to get it done!

It's definitely hurt my bow hunt especially with all the road closures, etc. Since it rolled in heavy early this week I've been out twice and have not seen much of anything let alone hear any bugling. It should be good for the muzzy guys if it ever breaks tho.

Only head I shoot now as well, going on 3 years straight. Very minimal BH tuning and they do some damage. Give them a try, very good head IMO.

I've been using some products made by Wilderness Athlete. Pretty sure it's called Hydrate & Recover. It seems to help better than anything I've ever tried. I also use Energy & Focus for a little boost when needed. They don't perform miracles but seem to help.

I bought a bunch of First Lite stuff this year and I'm very pleased! The clothing is very quiet, comfortable and keeps you comfortable whether its 80 or 30 degrees. My favorite thing is that when you're sweating your walnuts off, you don't get that smell of "funk" after a few days like you do...

Generally it has been best the last week of season as far as the elk being vocal. However, this year I heard more bugles early before muzzy season but I was hunting a high pressured OTC unit.

Ram, I was also in 581 over the weekend and we didn't hear a peep. I got into a few elk but and even had a few cows come running to a couple location bugles, but we never heard a bugle. It was pretty busy out there this weekend with all of the campers, we'll see what happens with muzzle opening...
