Thanks, figured I was little early, just excited to try and get my son on a bear. We see them all the time in the summer and fall, but are rookies in the spring time.

Anybody seeing anything emerging from their dens yet? Just curious if I'm looking in the wrong spots or their still in hiding?

Shows a point for me in 2019, but neither one of my kids have an extra point or permit? Maybe there is still hope for them. I think the division keeps the same email for me, and just changes the year and the species. Lol

I would think the real question is, is it worth the extra money and hassle for a suppressor? Generally the break is going to be a lot cheaper. You can buy breaks and have installed for less then $250. Suppressors are around $400-$2000 plus machine work, and the extra forms to fill out

You missed my point. There is opportunity for both right now. Max point holders and a random. If it wasn't for the random, I never would have drawn. If it wasn't for the point system, the max point holders might not have drawn that year. When there was no point system a friend of the family...

With a 50/50 split, it's the same as having a random draw system. You still have a chance! Going to a random draw solves nothing. Would it be fair if someone drew a tag every year in a random while other guys wait 20, it's the same thing. At least with points you have options, stop being so...

Tri...... I will have to agree with you on the auction tag. Since we have gone to this method in Utah, I have seen the numbers of all wildlife in Utah, "Skyrockett" I have lived and hunted here my entire life. Since we "gave" all our tags to auction, I have noticed a deer or elk behind...

Didn't get one, had a chance, but wasn't fast enough, or at the wrong place at the wrong time. Going to try it again after this big storm clears out.

Anybody seen any elk as of lately on the current creek unit? I have been out a couple of times to find them, and nothing. Lots of deer this year, but no elk. Hoping to find a cow for my 12 year old daughter this weekend. Any info would be great

+1 on the cut resistant gloves. They even have some what of a grip to them when your hands get bloody. And they are not thick and bulky like you might think.

I hunted it every year for about 6 years. I stopped hunting the south slope due to more people showing up every year. The problem I found on the south slope, is its all the same, and the elk are hard to pattern. They don't have to go to the same water hole ever. I also noticed the rut...

I was set in stone on getting horses. Went on lots of rides with friends and got comfortable around them. The more I went, the more I wanted some. Drew a mountain goat tag and packed in 11 miles. Everything went good. Shot and killed my goat and used the horses to retrieve my goat back to...

Looks like I need to move to the basin to draw a tag.

Moose in Utah are heading down the drain. North slope had over 20 + tags when you left, now it's under 10. Every unit has taken a hit in the population.

whos putting in for the bear tags? On the expo site there is 2 wasatch spring tags. This hunt is a harvest objective now. Are they going to move these tags to the summer or fall hunt, or are they just going to collect $5 from everybody and then give them a tag anybody can buy over the...

Thinking of putting my wife in for one for moose. Pro's and con's? Anybody have a bad experience with one? Any info would be great. If it was just a deer or elk tag i would try it, but a OIL tag makes me think twice about it.

New boundary for this year. Anybody know why and if they will increase tags for the unit, or do they need more area to hunt because numbers are down? They doubled the size of the unit. What's your thoughts?

Can't say I have seen a difference in the herd size or size of bucks, but after day 4, it's like we are hunting a limited entry unit. Everybody is gone. I don't know if everybody is shooting 2 points and going home, or they think there is no deer and go home. I didn't notice anymore 2 points...

My family was there, had a great time. I just don't see why every tag holder needs 15 buddies to help kill a big buck on the Henry's. It's pretty sad I saw more spotters and guides then tag holders. I even saw more people in 2 days then I did in 6 days on the general season deer with my wife...

After watching the circus for the first two days, there isn't a 200" on the mountain that is safe. When the mountain looks like walmart parking lot on the day after thanksgiving, it makes it hard for the average guy to even get on the mountain to hunt.. I watched how they hunted this buck...

I shoot a 300 RUM, my boy shoots the 300 wsm Tikka. I am starting to like his gun more then mine. The Tikka and the 300 wsm is a sweet combo. Light gun, tack driver, and extremely accurate, right out of the box. Buy one, you won't be disappointed, and if you are let me know, I will buy it...

The way I see it.........if you want a bare bones truck, buy an 80's or 90's anything and "BUILD" it for the off road adventure. You can get old trucks for cheap and put some money into them to make the perfect rock crawler, mud digging, hunting machine. Then go buy your $60,000 high horse...

I would give anything for my son to have that tag! We have a couple bulls that would hit the dirt. Maybe next year? And yes, kids are messed up in today's world. I just hope if he draws it won't be the same thing as your son.
