I was told about the No Excuses muzzleloader bullets last year. I gave them a try and have loved them. I shoot the 50 caliber 460 grain bullet. They shoot great out of my Knight Bighorn.

As luck (good luck) would have it I pulled an early rifle season Unit 6 deer tag. I've not been in that area before but I'm planning on a couple 3 day scouting trips before the season opens. I'll go next week and then again mid-September. I'm excited to learn more about the area and to hunt...

I noticed the same thing in the regs. I sent an email to IDFG to clarify the issue. They were kind enough to respond. Their response was that it was an oversight to leave the 5-permit controlled hunt in Units 55 and 57. The hunt appears in the regulations but will not be available to hunters...

Don't know how it will be on the late hunt but the general hunt was poor for our camp. We hit it hard, hiked off trail several miles every day and only saw does and a handful of yearling bucks. Hopefully for you all the big boys are still up in the high country.
