Last year Washington buck. 199 4/8 net

50+ years of hunting mulies, I have tagged 8 over 180”, but never hit that 190” mark...until this year. Tagged a 209“ gross buck on my late Washington tag, perhaps the good lords gift to helping others over the years!

I've been hitting it hard since the first, hiking high and low, I've seen two "mature" bucks in 9 days. Two 140-150 class bucks that I have passed were shot yesterday, one in the morning and one right before dark, both within 100 yards of each other. I'm finding elk all over the place, I know...

Very nice bull but keep in mind the hunter is sitting at the ass end, distorting the perspective, not necessary with a bull like that.

Slippery slope with this one. Bait the animals for weeks, essentially programming them to move to that area for food, then remove the bait the day before the hunt, ambushing them on their daily routine the next day. The word "hunt" to me sure seems a technicality in this circumstance. $0.02

It's been warm and dry and poaching looks to be taking a toll, the numbers are way down.

Once you learn how to bracket your camera its really quite easy. Here are a couple from last year.

I think its a solid 140 class bull myself and a real trophy with archery gear. This pic is much better to judge the actual size.

Thats one of our Washington bucks that crossed the border to winter;^)
