My daughter and friends son had a hunt there this year on the youth deer hunt we had talk to game and fish from what they said 7 of the 8 arrested were ex-felons so why were they allowed to carry guns there are sign posted as you go in ?no off road driving? sad to say this state doesn't do...

i used to love to hunt that unit i hunted it for over 10 years and each year had successful hunt taking out 4x4 mature bucks an occasional 3x3 sometimes but stopped hunting it ever since the land swaps started in that unit the first year i was limited to their open areas and not able to get back...

does any one know any cabins for rent in unit 15 16D area there are some 7 miles north of apache creek campground but cant find a number have my kids cow hunt rather the drive my 5th wheel for a day or two i rather rent a cabin any information would be appreciated

a buddy of mines drew unit 50 and ask me for help i personally never been to that unit other then drive by it were planing a scouting trip this will be his first elk hunt so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

agree with nmwapiti been there in late sept been on them but few and far between ive recommend to save your money but if you do take it i can point you to some spots

not sure but a few years ago we were scouting next to the narrows on hwy 117 when a group of cars parked along the side of the road individuals got out of their cars and began to unload boxes and walk past the fence line they went maybe 400 yards off the highway and to my surprise when they open...

Congrads to all who drew myself we drew elk unit 15 Bow 3rd hunt my son drew elk 15 youth and 2C deer. We also drew deer 2b 3rd hunt and Sept off range Oryx this is the best the year since the first time as a kid I drew elk.

Just got back from apache creek no elk ANYWHERE we traveled twice to Collins park and around must of drove over 200 hundred miles with fresh snow on the ground no elk sign expect off the main highway by the continental divide that were we hit one and missed another but 8 more hunters were able...

Don?t know what the weather looks like down there other then what i see on the news and weather channels, but we're taking a few kids to hunt in units 16d and 16e. We'll be camping at apache creek if you need any help or you run into to trouble and if we can be of any assistance let us know.

What about access to get to BLM land?

Anyone know if land that is owned by the DOA can be accessed and or used for hunting? I've called NMDGF Santa Fe and DOA in Las Cruces and cant seem to get answer. Thank You
