This makes no sense at all. I know what unit you are talking about and just saturday i seen 16 branch antlered bulls on one ridge. Just stop killing the cows. and i also agree take the rifle hunt out of the rut and stop chasing the wildlife from August to November.

There is a shoot coming up in Nephi on the 19 and 20. Its not a shoot that is always set up but but you can shoot all weekend. $10 for fun shoot and $10 for money shoot.

If anyone is thinking of using Estes taxidermy in utah think twice before ya drop off your trophy. Don't like talkin bad bout someone but lots of people have lost capes, heads, horns and money from this guy. I could go on but i wont i just don't want anyone else getting screwed like i did.

If it was me with the tag i would stay between spanish and nephi canyons. Ther are however a few nice bulls takin on the east side of the red cliffs. good luck.

I do agree that the rifle hunt should not be durrin the rut. The bow hunters have a huge disadvantage by not gettin to hunt the rut. and after thinkin about it if there was a better chance to draw a tag and the bow hunt was in the rut i would stop huntin spikes in a heartbeat.

I dont agree with ya on that one cause utah is so messed up you cant hunt elk every year unless you hunt spikes or have money. But it is nice that when you do draw a elk tag in utah most units offer large bulls which is better than rag horns every year like some other states.

I was out and about last weekend and despite all this good snow were gettin there was a bear i know was out for sure. I dont think too many are yet but wont be long. i just dont think they are too far from their dens yet

I would say in the area where i hunt the unit has slipped ALOT. Four and five years ago i would have said i could have showed you a handfull of 350 bulls no prob. Last year i saw maybe one bull that big and the biggest one i know of that got killed in that area was 325 and he was the heard...

It is a spike unit and thats how i get to hunt it every year. sorry should have made myself more clear.

Nebo has gone down hill a bit but still some good bulls if your willing to work. I hunt it every year with bow, and i am willing to give a guy some help if he draws the tag.
