I own a burris fullfield II in 3x9x40 and love it. When I purchased the scope from cabelas a free spoting scope came with. For $200 the burris can't be beat.
This weekend on the opening morning there were elk all over the place. A lot of people could of filled their tag, but right at first light people rode their atv's right up to where the elk were, scaring them away.
C3, Thanks for the advice I know the area you are talking about. I worked on a mormon cricket suppression project on the res. and surrounding area. Saw lots of elk sign but no elk. I put in for the tag was surrprised when I was successfull.
Was wondering what you would choose, the Winchester and Weatherby are both $388 at wal-mart. The caliber will be 30.06. This will be my hunt everything gun. Any advice is appreciated.
last week I was working up city creek canyon and had just hiked down from the ridge between north canyon and city creek when I came upon a small spring with a man made shelter and lots of hoses and boxes of miracle grow. The stuff had been there a while.

Hello all, I just drew a cow elk tag for the deep creek mountains on the Utah Nevada border. Just wondering if anyone has some advice on the area. The hunt is 3 months long.

I am looking at buying the new tikka t3 and will probably buy synthetic. This is my first year hunting and I am learning about what I like and what works. I feel that I would damage wood and I want my gun to look good for as long as possible.

I am was wondering if anyone had a prferance between the 7mm mag and 30.06. It will be my first NEW hunting rifle and I am planing on buying one of the new TIkka T3's or a savage. I will be using the gun in utah for elk, deer, moose. I just can't decide between the two calibers. Thanks.
I helped a friend gut His cow elk down by mount pleasent and when I got home to do a more thurough wash job on the knife. The Water took off the finish were the blood was stuck to the knife. I know of another friend that had the same thing happen. The knives are not cheapies and the blood was...
I have seen surplus ammo for my 30.06 on couple web sites and was wondering if it is o.k. for practice. I don't want anything that will hurt my gun. I found "pmc korean mc ball fmj projectile" whatever that means, 400rds for 96 dollars.
Any one used surplus ammo? thanks
