Units 76 elk and 74 deer.

those are excellent high country units, with great trophey potential. BUT nothing besides altitude sickness will come easy on those hunts. If you did those hunts back to back, you would really be putting some miles on the boot leather, I wouldnt spend those deer points on a high country hunt...

    Zirkel High Country Rifle Hunt

RE: Zirkel High Country Rifle Hunt I agree with rem308, the previous winter was to thank for a decline in deer numbers. Did you guys see any bucks up there in the high country, What has your success been like there in the past? I am contemplating a hunt in the zirkel in the future.

    Great News!

You wouldnt find any rouger terrain west of the mississippi than sw virginia, Killing a elk back in there would make for a good trip out. This area is a endless supply of 3000 foot ridges. NOT bait and treestand country.

    Northern Colorado bull down (pics)

be carefull with a 3rd or 4th season tag, because you could get snowed in real easy, and a large portion of elk will be pushed to private property. I would focus on 1st and 2nd season in the future.
