I'm interested in getting some recommendations for whitetail hunts, possibly for 2018. I'm open to any state, Kansas, Iowa, etc. I'd just like to hunt a place where there's an opportunity for a trophy buck. I'd really like to hear from those who have gone on a guided hunt and your experiences.

Yep, the guy with 4 points really only had 2. G&F was very helpful. Lesson learned, make sure you know for certain those in your party truly have the correct number of points, don't just take their word for it.

Three of us applied as a party for antelope (5,5,4 points) averaged to 4.67. Results this morning say Unsuccessful. I look at the odds and see those with 5 points the quota was 81, they issued 46. For <5 quota was 35, they issued 14. For 4 quota was 21 and they issued the remaining tags...

They came out last year on Feb 24. So hopefully this week. I think they've finally figured out their new system. Last years results for all draws came out a lot sooner than years past.

Right now a basket 4 point would be just fine. Hind sight 20/20, we should have pulled the trigger a couple weeks ago, was probably a 160 deer. Lessons learned.

I'd recommend Greg Heil also, Re-Creation Taxidermy, Nampa. He did my dad's moose, did an incredible job.

Here's a picture of my Dad's moose he took this last weekend. It was an absolutely awesome experience. We were so happy for him, one shot at 280 yds. Check that one off the bucket list. It's a trophy to all of us. Just curious any thoughts on what it would score?

My Dad drew a moose tag for 69-1. Totally stoked for the old man. Would like to hear from others who have had this tag.

Nice mount. I like that pose, walking down hill. It really accents the beard and looks like its coming to say hi to someone in the room. The goat I got last year also had a white hoof, I thought it was pretty rare but apparently not. Nice job.

We had a great hunt. These animals really live in some pretty ugly and scary country. First thing in the morning we made our way to a peak that sat right in the middle of a big bowl. We were able to see a group of 7 right off the bat to the West but about half way down the ridge they were on...

Well the time has finally come. We're leaving today to see if we can find this guy. Talk about being excited, as I'm writting this I can feel the anxiety and have probably thought of every possible scenario you can imagine.

I agree with the others. The extra weight and time wasted isn't worth it. I have however been fortune enough to smack a few "Fool Hens" with a rock on the way back to camp and added that to some Top Ramen noodles, it was like eating manna from heaven.

Deepforks is right. The "Extra Doe Deer" tag is a pretty specific area; basically Weiser Rvr Rd to Cove Road, most of it is private land. Was just hoping someone on here knew of a farmer that wouldn't mind us taking a couple does out of his alfalfa/corn field.

I have a mountain goat tag this year and if I'm successful I'd like to have a lifesize mount done. What is the preferred method to skin the animal; like a bear rug or the dorsal cut down the back?

I did have a sheep tag last year. We busted our butt but just weren't able to get it done. Hardest thing I've ever done but well worth the experience. We ended up seeing just one ram, young one so I chose to wait for another day. Can't wait to draw that tag again. I'm one of those lucky guys...

My son and I were scouting this week end and located what we thought was a pretty nice goat. I apologize for the grainy pictures but he was quite aways away. Curious to know what others think. Its pretty hard to judge these animals but I'd like to know what others think.
