LAST EDITED ON Nov-26-08 AT 08:37AM (MST)[p]Longwalker, Great Ram. I think I have pictures of that Ram from the 4th of July. My uncle has a ranch in Wapati and while traveling over there through the park, we came upon several rams walking up the road just before the east gate. I will get...

    4th Season Colorado

We just returned from Area 41. We should have been hiking in 1'-2' of snow, instead we hunted in T-shirts by mid morning. We saw a lot of does and young bucks. We hunted from the top of Grand Mesa to the flats east of Whitewater. We ended up taking 2 4x4's that were 20" and 22". Burned 7...

    Applegate Muzzleloader

I have been blessed with an Applegate muzzleloader tag this year. I was wondering if any of you blacktail hunters in that area would have any tidbits of info for a guy from Wyoming. I will be at my uncles ranch in Oregon about 45 minutes north of the zone. Any info would be helpful and I...

    El Matador

We had been chasing this guy around for 5 days. He had a fondness for the small piece of private property located inside the BLM. He finally made the fatal mistake of looking to add to his herd of does he had collected. I don't think any of the other bucks wanted to fight him due to his...

Manny15, Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated. As for steep, I live in Pinedale, WY and hunt the WInd River range. Steep is OK by me. The only thing I hate about Oregon is the darn poison oak. I can look at it and start scratching! bkhunter

Just found out that my 12 year old drew the March 08 hunt in Stallion. I think I am more excited to take him then if I drew my own tag. Any info would be greatly appreciated. It is going to be a long year waiting to go. I bet I will here "is it time to go yet" a million times. It was his...

    looking for elk appetizer suggestions

Cut elk in 1/2" strips to what ever length and roll in seasoned breadcrumbs. Deep fry in oil and serve with dipping sauce. make sure oil is atleast 350 degrees, but don't let it get to its smoking point. Easy, tender and awesome. Have used every cut of elk and all work well. Easy to eat with...

    SOME HUGE ELK!

There is a picture of that bull in that group of pictures. I know the guy who killed it. It was a monster. It is a great ranch. I have hunted wild pigs there and actually won a pig-o-rama hunt with a large boar killed in the snow. Pretty awesome. Look at the pictrues, it's near the bottom...

    NV, MT, AZ Elk Pictures

BigFin, Great bulls. What Area did you get that NV bull? It looks like a bull that I took pictures of during my muzzy hunt. The only discrepancy is the 5's look a little longer than the one we watched. Other than that, he is a close match everywhere else, including the great 3's. BKHUNTER

    Wyoming moose question?

We have two types of moose in the state. Forest moose that are found in the parks and meadows and the willow moose that live in the willow bottoms. They don't travel a whole lot from their area except during rut. The forest moose are a whole lot better eating, but harder to hunt. Willow...

Nevada early rifle bull tag unit 111-115,221,222

Congrats! It is tough to draw a great tag and get it over so quick, "do I or don't I shoot this one" is a common theme on a hunt like that. Don't want to eat that tag tough. They are hard to digest. Can't wait to see the pictures. BKHUNTER

Hole in one, for the 3rd time

Just got back from my muzzy bull elk hunt in Nevada. This is actually the first bull that I have killed. Drew the tag on two points. Hunted several different areas in the 111-115, 221,222 unit and saw approx. 25 bulls. They have an over abundance of bulls and only 4-5 of the bulls we saw...

    Fake?

If you save the picture to your computer and blow it up, you can see the horizon has been changed by moving the horns on the left hand buck up and out. It is a docotred photo for the left hand deer only. I have seen the pictures taken of all of these deer and there were two that were doctored.

    Looking to Move to Montana

Information can be a dnagerous thing. The oil and gas industry do more for wildlife conservation in Wyoming then the Wolf lovers and tree huggers could ever imagine. Wolves, harsh winters, drought, developement, retirees, and numerous videos sold to the mass showing huge deer on wintering...

BigBullHUnter, What do you do for a living? I live in Cnetral Western Wyoming and have more jobs than people to fill them at our company, natural gas development. Get's cold here to, but it keeps the city folk away. A little pricy here in Pinedale, but can find afforable housing around...

Saw a lot of young bulls. Some were a little wider, but very small paddles. This was the biggest bull I saw. It isn't known for large bulls. Pretty steep hunting with limited access. It was my second choice and I drew it with 2 prefrence points, who would of "thunk that". My first choice...

    RULES FOR OUT-OF-STATERS

Don't forget that while hunting in Wyoming you need to help us out with our our "large" coyote problem. They are a strange variety of coyote that seems a lot larger then most others and are usually a "black or greyish tint" to them. No need to pick them up after letting the air out. Just...

    Hole in One, Again.

I hunted all over, but saw most of the bulls down in the southern area. I killed him up Poison Meadows. A buddy of mine from California killed a great bull yesterday up near Bondurant. Helped him pack it out yesterday. Two moose in three days is exhausting.

Here's a picture of the moose I was able to harvest this last weekend in th WY Area 23. I had seen about 12 bulls in the last 8 days hunting and he was the biggest. I needed to get this tag filled so I can concentrate on a limited entry deer tag here in Wy and then off to Nevada for an Ely...

to skin or not to skin

Skin it. Most places, the weather is too warm to keep any hide on an animal. I actually wrote a senior thesis in college on marketing vension vs. beef and everthing I read suggested that the animal must be skinned as soon as possible. Wild game taste is really from three factors - diet of...

Here's a picture a good Wyo goat I harvested last Sunday. 14 1/2" with 5" cutters. I wouldn't recommend either of the two "guides" in the picture. They wanted to shoot every little dink that wandered by! If I heard "shoot that one dad" once, I heard it a thousand times! It was great to have...

I have this tag this year for the muzzleloader season and it is worth the money if you are looking for a big bull. The only problem with the tag in question is the pressure for the early season before and the muzzleloader season before that. Bulls will be a little more scattered and skitish...
