The only spot where these two animals are touching is close to the tip of the Lions tail. So how are the two or better yet, how is that Lion suppended on the display.

Very unique display and great Taxi work whom ever did the pedestal mount.

I got the same email a couple weeks ago, and it explains at the bottom of the email that the only thing holding the lion up is where her tail meets the zebra's leg!!! AMAZING!!!

The Bass Pro Shop near my house has a display similar to this with lions chasing Kudu. The Kudu is suspended in mid air with its foot touching a piece of brush about the width of my middle finger. I am no taxidermist but i would guess there is a steel rod that runs through one mount to the other.

The mount was done by Dennis Harris of The Artistry of Wildlife in Michigan. He's a regular in the Taxidermy section at Accurate Reloading.

This mount took these Awards at the 2009 World Taxidermy Championships.

First Place Best of Catagory Combined Artist
Best In the World Combined Artist World Champion
2nd Place Carl Akley Award

The whole thing is held together with this steel rebar armature.

Wow - that is one of the coolest mounts I have ever seen.

I believe the zebra is a hartmann's mountain zebra. They are a lot more interesting - no shadow stripes, stripes to the hoofs, dewlap and that football gridiron thing on the small of their back. Awesome...
