Takes me back 40 years, Blank. My mother would make them from scratch, starting with the ham hock and boiling the Lima beans, then simmer it all day long until it was almost like sauce. Homemade bread to boot. We were poor, beans were cheap and a giant pot went a long ways. Never thought I’d miss those but man, what I’d give for a pot of her homemade beans!
