Dammit Outdoor Writer and Homer, don’t encourage him to shut up. It’s so entertaining to watch.
Best of both worlds; pathetic and entertaining at the same time, eh?

jeezus slammy....wake TF up
Lmao.....no, I don't generally go through and read all the comments.
I saw a gorgeous buck and posted just a dozens of others did, simple as that.
It's still a gorgeous buck, and congratulations on your jail time!???
Excuses are like buttholes. Yours stinks. If anyone is actually interested in the facts they can be looked up online. I was not convicted of illegally taking this buck. Original charges stemmed from a local who claimed to have a trail cam pic of the buck in a neighboring unit. I had a witness with video evidence of this buck right where I claimed to have killed it. The azgfd star witness was the local who suddenly claimed I told him I poached it which was strange because I had talked to him a handful of times in my life and certainly not someone I would be telling that to. I was confused why he was going that route until I found out a few weeks ago turns out him and his wife went down for poaching a deer and an elk and lying about residency for lifetime licenses. It all became clear that they were simply doing what they could to salvage their hunting licenses which proved to work when the game and fish magically changed their illegal take charges to public nuisance charges then the commission didnt even take their hunting licenses. Literally unheard of. Anyway back to the facts of the story. Two weeks before trial with my witness (someone I hardly know coaberating my story) ready to testify I see they are asking to introduce new evidence regarding a deer my friend took earlier that year. Turns out he admitted to them the prior deer was killed illegally, I was there and now they went the route that I illegally harvested a deer in september of the same year therefore killing my deer in the same calendar year made it illegal as well. Spoke with my attorney who looked over the evidence and he came to the conclusion I couldnt beat it even though it was a totally different situation than the public was led to believe. I agreed to plead guilty to illegal possession of my deer you see here as well as illegal possession on the one in September as well as some other illegal possession charges in other cases and illegal take of a bear and a deer.
Anyhow some will see it as poaching is poaching is poaching and you're a poacher for life. Thats fine but just wanted to get some of the facts of the case (that you can look up in court records) out there for others to read. Do with it what you will. Hopefully bowhntr will fill you in on the details of his good friends the Krugs who went down for the poaching of the elk and deer and license fraud.
Absolutely. Now the property of AZGFD. Along with several other deer. And apparently a bear as well.So I'm not clear, did they confiscate this buck?
I doubt they throw that one in the auction. Damn shame to see a deer like that go out like that.
I still can't believe what happened today. I never in my life thought I'd see a buck like this in this area with a OTC tag let alone get a chance to kill him with my bow. This morning after work I set out to just fill my tag with any buck as today was the last day of season. By some miracle this buck showed himself and didn't have a care in the world as I snuck into 32 yards and shot him while he was chasing does. Amazing how they completely lose their minds during the rut. After gaining my composure after the shot I waited 25 minutes to track him and he had piled up 100 yards away and hardly bled. I was able to follow his tracks in the mud to find him. I'm very thankful I got this once in a lifetime opportunity and made the most of it. A quick green score put him at 204 2/8" gross and 201 4/8" net. He could be one of the biggest typicals ever killed in AZ with a bow and assuming he doesn't shrink too much during the 60 day drying period he could be close to top 10 pope and young in all the world. Once again thankful for this awesome buck and thanks to my wife for putting up with my obsession. I'll post more pics later on.
